Abstract: Using electropulsing treatment (EPT), we proposed a method to effectively tune the free volume content and the mechanical performance of a Zr-based bulk metallic glass (BMG). No crystallization takes place but the atomic scale structure changes during EPT. Appropriate EPT parameter can facilitate the increase in the free volume content, thus tailoring the nanomechanical properties of the studied BMG.
