The Data Analysis WorkbeNch (DAWN) was developed to address the challenge of providing a single visualization and analysis platform for data from any synchrotron experiment (including single-crystal and powder diffraction, tomography and spectroscopy), whilst also being sufficiently extensible for new specific use case analysis environments to be incorporated (e.g. ARPES, PEEM). In this work, the history and current state of DAWN are presented, with two case studies to demonstrate specific functionality. The first is an example of a data processing and reduction problem using the generic tools, whilst the second shows how these tools can be targeted to a specific scientifc area.	May 2015

Based on the experience of overseeing the users' progress at B23, four key areas requiring the most assistance are identified: planning of experiments and note-keeping; designing titration experiments; processing and analysis of the collected data; and production of experimental reports. To streamline these processes an integrated software package has been developed and made available for the users. The subsequent article summarizes the main features of the software.	Mar 2015

We have developed the control software for the beamlines in parallel, adopting a common set of standards, tools, and designs across all beamlines. At the core of the control system is the EPICS toolset and the widespread use of the Delta Tau PMAC motion controller. The latter is a complex, but flexible controller that has met our needs both for simple and complex systems. We describe how we have developed the standard EPICS software for this controller so that we can use the existing EPICS interfaces, but also enables us to use the more advanced features of the controller.
