Kurt Journal Of Superconductivity And Novel Magnetism 71 DOI: 10.1007/s10948-022-06215-7 Diamond Proposal Number(s): [12400] Show Abstract ▼ Abstract: Changes in magnetism were investigated through control over the atomic structure for Cu1−xAgx alloy matrix-embedded Fe nanoparticles systems. Nanocomposite magnetic films were prepared using the low-energy cluster beam deposition (LECBD) technique under ultra-high vacuum (UHV) conditions. Fe nanoparticles were produced by gas aggregation source, while alloy matrices were produced by MBE sources. Extended x-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) experiments revealed that the Fe nanoparticles in pure Cu have fcc structure while retaining their bulk bcc structure in Cu1−xAgx alloy matrix. Also, a slight decrease in Fe–Fe interatomic distances was observed in the bcc Fe structure due to the compression in the alloy matrix. The magnetic moment of Fe was initially very low because of its fcc structure in the pure Cu matrix, however, increased ultimately to values of ~ 2.7 μB/atom with increasing Ag content in the alloy matrix. Borisenko Journal Of Superconductivity And Novel Magnetism 254 DOI: 10.1007/s10948-017-4434-5 Show Abstract ▼ Abstract: The interplay of high- and low-energy mass renormalizations with band shifts reflected by the positions of van Hove singularities (VHS) in the normal-state spectrum of the most strongly hole-overdoped correlated AFe2As2 (A122) with A=K, Cs is discussed phenomenologically from ARPES data and band-structure (GGA) calculations with full spin-orbit coupling. The big increase of the Sommerfeld coefficient γ from K122 to Cs122 is ascribed to an enhanced coupling to low-energy bosons in the vicinity of a quantum critical point to an unknown, yet incommensurate phase different from the commensurate Mott one. We find no sizeable increase in correlations for Cs122 in contrast to Eilers et al. (Phys. Rev. Lett. 116, 237003 2016). The empirical (ARPES) VHS positions as compared with GGA predictions point even to slightly weaker correlations in Cs122 in accord with low-T magnetic susceptibility χ(T) data and a decreasing Wilson ratio ∝ χ(0)/γ. I15-Extreme Conditions	Single photon processing hybrid pixel detectors Erik Fröjdh Journal Of Superconductivity And Novel Magnetism Show Abstract ▼ Abstract: This chapter discusses the concept of single photon processing hybrid pixel detectors before moving on to characterize hybrid pixel detectors using synchrotron radiation and in particular monoenergetic pencil beams. The beams produced by synchrotrons are generally very clean and have excellent energy resolution. A monochromatic pencil beam is a very useful tool for detector characterization since both the position and the amount of energy deposited are then known. The Timepix chip is a hybrid pixel detector developed in the framework of the Medipix2 collaboration. While Timepix is a general-purpose chip, the Medipix3RX is much more aimed at x-ray imaging. Depending on the chip, two types of energy calibration are necessary: calibration of the analog threshold and calibration of the time over threshold response. By applying a threshold and counting each photon, the noise from integrating the leakage current seen in charge-integrating devices is removed.	Mar 2015
